I have just ordered the 80-400mm AF-S VR & have just come over from being a Canon User & i am now interested to see how it fairs up against my old 7d & 400mm 5.6L Prime set-up on the new full frame D3X set-up i will be using, obviously i wont have the same crop factor but hopefully it is as sharp!

Well the 3 i ordered on behalf of a friend arrived today & they are all metal construction & even seem slightly lighter in weight, i have measured his 77mm against my 77mm w.a. & also his 82mm against my 82mm w.a. on the same lenses side by side & both are exactly the same in height depth etc...
