All worked out really well. Limited inside as nearly on back row, so needed the 250mm and still got some okay ones especially the bit when the wife got up. Outside photos looked good as well. New to his photo malarkey but loving the 550D and both lenses. Cheers for the advice it really is...

Hi new to all this just got myself the EFS 55-250mm and it is great. Now want to do some close ups. Looking at the CANON 60MM EF-S F2.8 USM MACRO but expensive anybody offer a cheaper alternative or used the 250D or 500D close up lens which you put onto your lens? Any guidance gratefully...

Many thanks ESP Wozzaaah! Think I will go for the Canon over the other 2, now just need to think about the refurb mk2 v new mk1, leaning towards the mk1 if basically the same optically. Cheers
