    Arrrrggggggghhhhhh Cheap Extension Tubes

Yep, unless your rings have the lever to mechanically relay between the lens and camera body you'll lose aperture control. Of course older lenses with aperture rings will work without aperture control on the body. I don't know about cheap rings, but the Kenko rings have both the aperture control...

    d90 v s5pro

I've owned both - the D90 simply feels like more of a complete camera, and has more dynamic range than you might think. As mentioned above, the S5 is crippled by its speed - not just the framerate, but even in reviewing your photos. Also bear in mind the Fuji is only 6MP in real terms.

Bokeh Nikon 50mm 1.4D **Pic added**

Doesn't look like a fair comparison to me, background distance may be different and foliage can tax the smoothness of bokeh of any lens (including 85/1.4D, 85/1.2L, etc). Also, the second pic some would argue isn't bokeh, it's just out of focus whereas the dog pic you can see the transition. I...

How to ignore picture orientation when importing raw to photoshop HDR?

If you want a quick solution, just reorient and save the offending images as a different format, say 16 bit TIFFs so they're equivalent to your RAW files. I've never had this problem, though I'd have thought if you rotated in the raw viewer the .xmp files should keep this from happening.

    memorybits.co.uk - 60% Off

Just got my PayPal refund sanctioned. They didn't contest it.

    memorybits.co.uk - 60% Off

Fair enough, I meant comparing their non-discounted prices...the 16GB Sandisks weren't nearly as keenly priced as their 8GBs.

    memorybits.co.uk - 60% Off

Thanks  The Sandisks 8GBs actually seemed reasonable, but a lot of the others didn't.

    memorybits.co.uk - 60% Off

I did look up reviews before ordering, and yeah...they seem to have as many bad reviews as most of these semi-independent web-stores. Hence using PayPal, hopefully that gives me the power, though admittedly I'm not well versed in PayPal rights

    memorybits.co.uk - 60% Off

Ta, ordered a pair of 8GB SanDisk 60MB/s CFs...£36, will see if they materialise. Site seemed a little sketchy, so used PayPal.

    Nikon 24mm - f/1.4 !!

Got one sitting, waiting for me in China...and it's killing me. Cost about 2/3 of the UK price though! If noone's gotten back to you by December I'll oblige you :p

Show me your inside your Crumpler bag pls

Some are. The Dehli ones are awfully large for how much gear they hold. Not feeling motivated enough to get a picture, but I can fit a D700 with a medium sized lens mounted + extra medium sized lens (stored horizontally) in a Messenger boy 3000.

    Nikon FX Ultra Wide Lens?

Size would've been a factor for me too...the Nikon 14/2.8 does look fairly squat (I think my Siggy facsimilie is perhaps a few mm longer).

    Nikon FX Ultra Wide Lens?

Surprising choice, did you get a tasty deal on it or something? Don't get me wrong, probably much nicer than my Siggy 14/2.8, but the Nikkor 14/2.8 seems to change hands (or at least is usually listed for) way too close to the superior 14-24 price.

    D700 & 70-200mm f2.8 length

I really recommend the ThinkTank holsters, the website will tell you exactly which lenses each holster will take (including whether you need to extend the bag to keep the lens hood on) and the bags are top quality.

    Competitors to the AFS 105mm f2.8 G

Having no direct experience of any AF macros but having read around them, I think you'll struggle to decide based on user opinion as they all get glowing reviews. The Sigma 150mm would be my choice for focal length, and it enjoys a very good reputation on Nikon Cafe. For what it's worth, my...
