    ITV Wales Weather

Woke up to a nice message this morning on Flickr from ITV Wales News saying my image has been chosen as photo of the day. A nice confidence boost! Thing is though, I don't really like the image lol Hey There by MattofTaylor, on Flickr Matt

How bad is a "kit" lens.

I had an 18-55 on my 450D, it was the first lens I bought for the 450D, and when I sold the body, it was also the last lens to go. The quality on them isn't that great and not very sharp wide open, but I did take some decent images with it, and the range was fine for what I was mainly using it for.

    Baby Bump Photography

Evening all, My wife is 27 weeks pregnant and I've been chomping at the bit to try out some baby bump photography, so I was after any suggestions or advice. My current setup is a Canon 5D mk1, 50mm and a wide angle lens, now it's pretty obvious I'll be using the 50mm for this type of shot...

    Website or kit?!

Completely agree mate, running a design agency when I hear "aaaah just do it yourself" it either annoys me or cracks me up lol

    Website or kit?!

Pay for a professional web designer to do the strand branding, they will make you more than the initial cost of taking them on. If you do the cheap option, it comes across as if you don't care about your business and don't take it serious, so why should your potential clients? Seriously have a...

    Photographer age bracket

I guess when I was in my early teens I used to think photography was a bit of an old mans hobby, for those retired etc. That was until I bought my first DSLR a few years ago and now I meet people of all ages on the travels. The local club that I'm secretary of has quite a wide range of ages and...

    Camera Exchange

I would advise against selling to a shop. They buy to sell on and make a handsome profit. You'll find you can make considerable more by selling on this forum :)

    Photographer age bracket

I've always had an interest in Photography and I always thought I could see a shot, but had no idea how to take it! 5 years ago (i was 20) I bought a bridge camera, then a superzoom. The main stumbling block for me was cost, having a house at 22 can be quite expensive so never had ANY...

    Digital rev

I've never used them but I know plenty of people that swear by them and have never had a single problem. Besides, they have a massive reputation that I'm sure they wish to keep intact :)

Filters debate - should I have fought my corner?

I used to swear by UV Filters, had them on every lens, then someone pointed out that I should try it without them, and I noticed a difference in quality. Since then I haven't used them. I can't comment on the really expensive ones though :) Matt

    Full Frame Landscape Lens

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm just going to save up the bit extra and go for the 17-40. In the meantime, I've seen there's a bit of a following of the Cosina, Tokina etc 19-35, and they're cheap/fun to play around with. What's peoples thoughts on these? Matt
