My understanding generally is it’s more that Nikon uk is part of a separate legal entity (NIKON EUROPE BV) and take a percentage of sales for imports via authorised routes specifically for warranty management work, and don’t get it for grey market as the importer/distributor in the products...
They squeeze everything together for financial and logistical reasons, carpets and cables etc are all paid for by the metre…spread all aisles out by another 10 metres and it apparently all gets rather pricy rather quickly.

Amazon don’t co-mingle stock in the uk any more, following some process and policy changes to fulfilled by Amazon sellers, but there is the chance that stock that arrived last year (or before) was mixed when received

Thanks for the comments, the dark look was a deliberate style choice but I can see the appeal of Kells thoughts and intend to play further.
I did try and correct the vertical, but couldn’t find an angle that looked right so went with a horizontal along the window frame.
Interesting as I about to push the button on a viltrox 56mm F1.7 for my Z50ii. Now do I do that, with the firmware risk mentioned in the article linked above, or look for an older secondhand lens to use via the FTZ.
