Cant seem to find something really in depth for canon 400D , the manual is very basic in nature. I just cant seem to click good pictures , could really do with some good training, particularly a good explanation on the modes.

I got the 18-200mm tamron lens for my 400D , the lens has a detachable plastic part at the end , what is it called and what are its uses.

ive tried quite a few s/w , i need to batch a lot for a website i maintain and the easiest s/w to do it is picture shark.

oh yes got to love the digital , ive already taken 100s of shots not happy with most of them, trying out all the settings one by one , this is educational stuff.

getting a used one is pretty hard around here otherwise that would really have been the best way for me to try out quite a few lenses. Someone i like the Tamron 18-200 & 18-250 for the modest needs at the moment (one lens does it all) before moving on to specialised ones.

Any recommendations for beginner level tamron & are they cheaper & better than what i would get a canon lens for. Flash is also on my buy list as it is an essential part, 430 is pretty expensive here though , will checkout a few more offers.
