    Bushy Park

Don't forget to let us know what it was like. I prefer Richmond Park, but the deer are easier to find in Bushy Park. Not too sure when to go myself.

    d90 vs 550d

Exactly the same for me. My brother has the 550, it's a nice camera but for me the build quality and feel of it was way below my D90.

    When to safari

Just thought I'd add my two pence.... We went to Chobe in April 2009 for our honeymoon (we stayed at the lodge inside the park). It was the first time we'd been on a safari and I had my lovely new D90 with a borrowed 70-200 and a hired 400mm (I believe) lens. We went on a game drive at 6am and...

Nikon telephoto lens - a cheap one or a more expensive one?

Firstly, I don’t have an interest in one area of photography more than any other, I just love taking photos. I currently have a Nikon D90 with 18-105 kit lens which I’ve been using happily for a while. Recently I decided to expand my range of lens so I purchased and a 35mm F1.8 which is great...

Is anybody free for a couple of hours in Tooting 30th Dec?

That's about 2 minutes from my house. I would have offered although my photography skills are on the bottom rung of the ladder so to speak. Glad you have someone to help out :).

    Nikon software suite problems

The software installed on my Mac Book Pro but won't display any RAW files and occasionally hangs so I have to force it to quit. Works perfectly on Windows 7.

    Weekend photography course

Looks like a good course, I might have to venture from London for a weekend course in the new year :).

Has anyone completed the Photography Institute online course?

A quick question from me as I'm getting closer to signing up for this course.... Does doing this course enable you to buy software at educational prices?? (Photoshop CS5 for £180!) Thanks :)

Has anyone completed the Photography Institute online course?

I'm another that has found this thread and now has an interest in this course! :) Is it suitable for relative new comers or are there better courses to do to get up to speed before doing this one??

    Printing photos - help needed.

Well I get round the problem by adjusting the brightness slightly, and a bigger adjustment of the Shadow Protection setting. Wasn't perfect but better than it was. Thanks for the replies, and I will indeed spend some time setting up my monitor correctly :).

    Printing photos - help needed.

I'm using a Canon IP5000 printer, and I don't have the profiles installed (well I haven't installed any anyway). Typically, I don't have a great deal of time. It's something that I need to sort out properly, but as with most problems, I'm in a rush.

    Printing photos - help needed.

Hi, I need some help as soon as possible. I'm printing some photos this evening for a friend but they are printing darker than they appear on screen (something which I'm aware happens). I have Capture NX2 trial software installed but I'm not sure what I should adjust to make the picture print...

Nuclear site web pictures a terror threat

My soon-to-be father in law (2 weeks ) works at a Nuclear power station and has done for many years. I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago about taking photos of the power station and the surrounding countryside and he said I'd have no problems from security. He was going to take me there...

Going on safari. Hire a decent lens, or buy a cheaper one?

Hi. We're going to Chobe national park. This lens selection is harder than I thought it would be :). I've just been to lunch with a friend who just happens to have the Nikon 70-200 f/2.8, so I'm going to borrow that and perhaps hire a 1.7x tele converter. I still might hire the 80-400 as...
