    Sigma 70-200 os

Use one day in day out for portraits and weddings on full frame. It is a cracking piece of kit. Mine is not uber sharp at 2.8 but is pretty good from 3.2 on. OS is excellent helps compose image as well as sort camera shake. It is a beast to carry about though if you thinking for travel. I...

    50mm f1.8 vs f1.4

Image quality on both is very good, 50 1.8 is amazing for the price, but it is ridiculously fragile and focus is not as good. I broke 2 before I bought the 1.4 but it was well worth the money. Mine has lasted 3 or 4 years and still perfect.

7Dayshop Good to Go AA batteries tested - results surprised me!

Just got them, so I cant vouch for the 'ready to go' or 'stay charged' aspect of them. The new type electrodes and purer chemical formula in Low self discharge type reduces the discharge rate but makes them more expensive, so I have no doubt that value LSD batteries are not as good as...

Loxley Designer Pro Image Resolution Query

The software warns you if the image resolution is dropping low. The last album I did the engineer at Loxley advised that saving the image at highest JPG quality wasn't even necessary. I resized the images to JPG quality 10 in the sRGB profile at full resolution and loading them into the...

7Dayshop Good to Go AA batteries tested - results surprised me!

I have several IQ-328 made by accupower but i believe the same thing is available under many brand names. It's a cracking bit of kit for the money, they just get used as a smart charger when I am not 'refreshing' any cells. I always run new sets through a refresh cycle, maximises their...

7Dayshop Good to Go AA batteries tested - results surprised me!

I ordered 4 sets of 7Dayshop 'Good to Go' 2150mAh to try. I am aware that they haven't always had the best write up but decided I would give them the benefit of the doubt and have a stab. Put them through my analyser and the results were pleasantly surprising! Initial Charge: They are...

    5D mark 1 observations

I bought a 5d mark 1 second hand a couple of years ago and I have run off 30 or 40000 frames since then. I was planning to upgrade to the 5d2 or 3 over this winter but have decided that I really don't 'need' an upgrade. I see a lot of posts on the web as to whether the 5D mark 1 is still a...

Canon 5D with Speedlight 580Exii problems

Hi Allan, Slightly different kit, but my 5Dmk1 does something similar with my Nissin di866. Just checked my last shoot and I got 2 full power pops out of 80ish frames. Flash appears to function perfectly on all of my other bodies. I always assumed there was a little problem with either...

    Please help asap

My print guy has me resize my images to 300dpi so 20x16" would be 6000x4800. Your pixel sizes appear to be the correct ratio but if it wasn't upsized to 6000x4800 and was straight printed at 300dpi it wouldn't cover the whole canvas :( That would be my guess at what has happened. I bet...

    can i do without 70-200 is 2.8?

I would consider changing out the 40d for a full frame body. I changed the 40d out for a 5d and dont regret it for a second. Your 28-75 would become a useful wide angle and the 70-200 becomes a lot more useful than at 112-300. Sell the other 3 to fund a 17-40 to cover super wide duties...

    Canon 5D classic

I run a 5Dc and a 50D and shoot mainly portraits and weddings. If i am honest i havent reached for the 50D first since i got the 5D. 5D is a little less responsive to use (slower menu selections, rubbish screen, only a few fps) but the files on the screen are amazing and take processing very...

5D and 1D3 for weddings - advice please

Am using a 5D and 50D for weddings/portraits at the moment. Am considering swapping out my 50D for a 1D3 for wedding use. 50D with 70-200 always seems a little long for my liking plus want something with better focussing for when it really dark. 1D3 seems the perfect compromise. A little...

    Macro - Normal - Telephoto around £700

I have the Tamron 90mm Macro for Canon and it is very very good and exceptional Value for money imho. Autofocus is a bit pants but macro i am always manual/fixed focus so no dramas. Optically very very good. Also have the 70-300IS (non 'L') and have always been very please with it! It is...

    Worst AA Battery performance ever?

Wont name, but the batteries are all green and have 3500mAh stamped on the side of them, easy to avoid as they are the only one on there :)
