Many thanks for these posts. Some years ago I worked for the MOD at Okehampton training camp and you have stirred up a few good memories. Before I worked there I never appreciated how beautiful moors could be and how unpredictable the weather could be!
It's worked for me in the past but you would have to try it for yourself to see if it is quick enough for you. Just use the USB cable that came with your camera to try it out. I usually use a mains adaptor for the camera as it is working in Live View and it can be a bit of a drain on batteries.

If you already have a dish for Sky then Freesat is another alternative. I use Freesat and have an old laptop permanently connected to the TV for Kodi/TVMC/TVaddons.
I was led to believe that every time you opened and closed a jpeg in PS a small amount of the information was lost. This does not happen with Tiff files so it is better to save the files as Tiff images for editing and only convert to jpeg when necessary, ie. for saving to a web page etc.
You can change the charging rate and do some sort of refresh cycle, but if you just put your batteries in and wait until the display for each battery says "Full" you can't go wrong.
