Just a quick question. What is the life expectancy for an Image stabalizer? I'd like to know what you'd expect. Please add whether you'd expect more if it was a pro lens.

If you can, take a meter reading from something neutral, i.e grass. Make sure the lens is out of focus before taking the reading. This technique can be used for any subject. HTH

You can get away with using any light source as long as you correct the white balance. You could use a couple of these in a suitable lamp holder and get excellent results. Link updated (pasted wrong item initially)
