    best display for portrait photography?

Obviously the comments made so far are pretty common sense. I know that different monitors look completely different, for example, I used to have a viewsonic 19" where I simply could not calibrate it to look right, and it messed up my images and thus was very difficult to do colour correction...

    best display for portrait photography?

sure, but there must be some decent monitors out there that are a good comparison to printed colours and qualities, and some better monitors for pro photography vs. some not so good... its the same with any product usually.

    best display for portrait photography?

Some displays might be better suited for accuracy in skin tones. However, I'm mainly black and white anyway. But I have noticed that some displays show things differently, e.g. a customer complained that their hair looked "wirey" - and on my viewsonic VP201s I could not see it. But on...

    canon 350D not downloading images!

I took some photos on my Canon 350D in RAW B/W mode for the first time, and the PC can't see them on the camera! I've tried "PTP mode" and "PC mode" , not sure what else to try; I'e tried googling; no use. Tried canon help, no use. Tried calling, they're closed. I'll try again on monday if I...

Best Studio Lighting for Indoor Headshots ?

I'm not confusing flat lighting with soft lighting, don't worry. I know the difference. I am sure about the skin tones. I've already mentioned about the white balance setting- was looking for some specific advice regarding this. There is no evidence to show inconsistent colour or power...

Best Studio Lighting for Indoor Headshots ?

Here are my photoshopped pics with corrected colour tones.. Clearly the hair will need lighting in the future. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll320/matt99b/canonpics832COLOR.jpg http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll320/matt99b/canonpics816COLOR.jpg And here are my conversions to black &...

Best Studio Lighting for Indoor Headshots ?

thanks very much for the tip. I'm concerned about the skin tones in those pics, and also concerned with the "flatness" of the lighting. It's almost too soft for my taste; yet in all the tutorials I've read, softboxes are the way to go apparently. The skin tones though, are awful. I could...

    Cheapest Full Frame DSLR?

after reading more of these posts, I'm thinkig more and more about getting a FF SLR.... and what it'll do to my bank account! Because whilst I agree its a big amount to spend for such a simple change, I just cant seem to get around this crop factor at the moment. Maybe I need to keep trying...

    Cheapest Full Frame DSLR?

Sorry, I should have been clearer. The point I was trying to make is that in order to open up to equivalent of 1.8 on a cropped lens you would need to open up to 1.1. And there are no lenses that do this (or maybe there is somewhere but it would be damn expensive)
