Evening all. Arrived in Durham this evening and will be having a walk round the town centre tomorrow. Was just wondering what other places I should visit in the nearby area? Any good bird centres or anything that I should visit? Like trying all types of photography so would like to have a good...
Lake District gets my vote. I live in Ulverston, Cumbria and its all around 20mins away from me and I love heading up with the camera. Been to Waswater today and Castletigg Stone Circle yesterday.
So many places up here just a matter of having a look around.

I just need to go out and be confident when taking shots of people.
I did get a couple of shots but nothing to shout about :/ think I might go somewhere else tomorrow that's abit busier and try again maybe Lancaster.

I chose them two places as a good way to ease my way into doing street pictures, and still bottled it haha
Disappointed in myself but I'm going to stop being a wuss from now on as I really want to start taking these kind of pictures
Yeah I make a point of not taking pictures when there are any children around. I just need to stop being a wuss, going out again tomorrow so going to go for it!

Would of headed for the gin but I had to drive home...
Been out with the camera today with the aim of getting some street pictures of people out and about . As I only have the kit lens it means I have to get quite close.
But I felt so nervous doing it and missed a great opportunity due to my lack of confidence taking the shot.

I was in the same position that you were in just over a month ago.
I'm also a beginner and decided to go for the Canon 550D. It's not too complicated and I'm getting used to it.
Make a note of all the questions that you want to ask as it is very easy to forget...
Totally agree it is personal taste and some examples do look good.
Definetly noticed amongst my friends who are not intrested in photography that they like selective colour with canvas's etc, however the people I know who are intrested in photography are very critical of the process...
