Finally got out with my X-E1 with the recently purchased Samyang 12mm. First time using the lens and shooting fully manual and very pleased with the results! MarkWhitePhotography-1160-2.jpg by MarkWhitePhotography, on Flickr

What to replace my dlsr with?

I moved from a Canon 50D with 24-105 f4L, Sigma 30mm f1.4 and 10-20mm had a 70-200 L previously, to a Fujifilm X-E1 with the 18-55 kit lens and 35mm f1.4 - Haven't looked back since to be honest. previously was the same as you, never bothered with the 50D as my whole kit was too big and felt a...

    Fuji X-E1/X-E2/X-E2S/X-E3 Owners Thread

Having used my X-E1 this weekend to take some photographs of a chef's dessert, that is to be featured in a couple of books, I have to say ditching the Canon 50D 3 lenses big bag etc was certainly the right move for me! So in love with this 'little' Fuji especially now I've added a Footprint...

Current DSLR kit or Fuji any advice?

I was in the same dilema and just decided to bite the bullet! It was goodbye to the Gripped Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20, sigma 30mm 1.4 and Canon 24-105L plus filters, loads of batteries etc etc, basically a big heavy bag full of gear that never got out as I couldn't find the enthusiasm - it...

    Fuji X-E1/X-E2/X-E2S/X-E3 Owners Thread

So at the weekend I took the plunge and traded in my Canon 50D with 24-105L, sigma 30mm and 10-20mm for the lovely little Silver X-E1 in the 18-55 kit plus purchased the 35mm too. After getting some time to give it a test run I can say I'm very pleased with the move! I bought a small canvas...

Move to Compact system from DSLR?

This is exactly the situation I think would give me a kick up the rear to get me active in capturing light again!

Move to Compact system from DSLR?

I really like the look of both size and style of the fuji x-e1 camera, I do think this would be the best way for me to go!

Move to Compact system from DSLR?

Over the last year since deciding to stop photographing the British Drift Championship for my friends website I have barely used my camera and it's begining to be somewhat annoying. My theory now is to move to a compact system as to give me less of an excuse to not have the camera with me, I'm...

    Portrait course local to Sheffield?

I do appreciate the heads up Ryan but the location is a little further than I was thinking, I drive a rather thirsty car and a 260 mile round trip would almost be a full tank of fuel. Good luck with the courses though, they look like very good value for money thats for sure!!

    Portrait course local to Sheffield?

Hi all, I'm wanting to make the move into portrait photography and thought it be a good idea to enrol myself onto a short course to give me some knowledge on the subject. It's the best way I learn, I know there's a wealth I info freely available however it's not the way for me. So my question...

    Hi from Sheffield

Hi Rick, Another Sheffield lad here :) The 'nifty fifty' is a great little lens and so cheap too, definately reccomended! I had one on my 50D and loved it, sold it now though as I went for a Sigma 30mm 1.4 - a decision I may regret seen as I'm now wanting to get into 'people' photography...

Elements 9 - Worth getting to replace CS2?

I'm looking to replace my Photoshop CS2 as I like the look of the new features in photoshop. However much I want to upgrade to CS5 I simply cannot afford it, especially as I'm wanting to upgrade my 18-55is lens. I've had a look at Elements 9 and it looks like a good affordable option. I...
