    Scanning "Magic Lantern" Glass slides...

Hi, I've recently come in to possession of a couple of hundred Magic Lantern slides (like these: http://images.denhams.com.s3.amazonaws.com/507/507lot220.jpg). I want to make some good quality scans of these but a normal scanner (I have a Canon CanoScan LiDE 210) will not work. The...

    Review by The Guardian

...and the fact that there is no human presence instills the images with the mood/atmosphere I was trying to convey...with the odd ball of picture 6, although as it's part of a grave I thought it would help add a certain tone to the 6 images...although I'm not sure how successful that was. As...

    Review by The Guardian

Thanks for the replies guys...some quite polar opposite opinions there but that's all fine. Breaker hit the nail on the head...the effect of abandonment and bleakness is the common thread...I've tried to keep the "human" factor out of the pictures...these are just objects.... Also, Breaker...

    Review by The Guardian

Hi, I'm a bit chuffed this morning as i've just had a 6 shot portfolio reviewed by The Guardian, and it's mostly complimentary (note the word "mostly", lol). I have been thinking about turning my lens towards "people" for a little while and their comments have inspired me to give it a...

    Absolute Best P&S Camera available?

Went with the LX3, after spending 3 hours reading about 20 reviews of the G9/G10 Vs the LX3. The size of the G10/G9 did put me off but also people seem to think that the LX3 works better in a wider variety of situations (although apparently the G10 can get stunning results in perfect...

    Pentax any good?

I Love my K10D...have had it a year now and still very happy with it. I purchased a Sigma 10-20 lens for it and I'm a happy togger... Will probably pick up a 50mm for it soon.. Great build quality, great images....no complaints from me. Plenty of examples on my Flickr page. Mark Morb

    Absolute Best P&S Camera available?

Thanks for the suggestions guys....based on that I have just read a review over at DPReview of the G10 and they seem a bit underwhelmed by it. In a studio situation they claim it's superb but in real life usage they say it's higher ISO settings are poor (they also say it is very over priced)...

    Absolute Best P&S Camera available?

Ok, I have the DSLR area covered (Pentax K10D and a variety of lenses) and throughly enjoy taking photographs with it...however...if I'm away for a nice weekend with my other half I do not want to carry my SLR around with me, I want a point & shoot I can keep in my pocket. If I'm going to get a...
