    Canon 70D & Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0 L IS USM

The price seems very low at the moment... I paid around £900 a few months back, and then it went up to well over a grand a week later. £805 with the 18-135mm seems an utter bargain  Edit: to add I have the 18-135mm and 55-250 STM lenses, and love them as much as my L 70-200.

If you are going to use the superb video features of the 70D then also look at the STM range of lenses, as these work so well with the focusing system, they are near silent and blisteringly fast. My 70-200 L series, and Sigma 10-20mm can't compete in use against my STM lenses for video. They may...

What's the point in a battery grip?

I absolutely love my (£26) Meike grip for my 70D... I simply find it makes the camera far nicer to handle in both orientations, and I enjoy the extra weight, even with a heavy lens. Using a wrist strap, the camera feels very secure with every digit placed firmly on the body and grip. I also find...

He's gone and done it again! - Excellent CHEAP CPL filter.

Indeed... I must say I am very disappointed, though considering the cost I probably should not be. I would not normally use a polariser on the focal length above, but it does highlight the problems these filters present... on my Sigma 10-20mm they use usable, but I can still see the degradation...

He's gone and done it again! - Excellent CHEAP CPL filter.

I gave both of mine a proper try today and have concluded they are junk sadly. I know they are cheap and you get what you pay for, but doing a comparison with no filter and one of these is startling, as the results are so awful... Using my Canon 70-200mm F/4 L (on a 70D) using a fixed position...

He's gone and done it again! - Excellent CHEAP CPL filter.

My two arrived today, and though I've only had a little play with them I am delighted... for the money they seem remarkably well made, and packaged. I also had made contact will the seller, as they were past the latest delivery estimate, and he sent a very helpful message, seemingly genuinely...

He's gone and done it again! - Excellent CHEAP CPL filter.

Mine are past the delivery estimate now :( and I received an email basically saying, they are on the way but please don't complain about us to Ebay if they are late, or leave negative feedback etc. As they are so cheap I don't mind waiting longer, but why not be honest about how long it will...

    Tough or just good luck?

Give your beloved some cheap, or unwanted bits, in the hope she drops one of those, and breaks the curse :D

Thanks for the OP Phil :) I've ordered this and the 77mm... even if they are not the finest - although judging from your pics they are hardly shabby - for the money they are well worth a test. Looking forward to getting mine in a day or three.

    Canon 70-200 Question

This is precisely why I bought mine... I love the effect of compressing distance with landscape, though it not the first thing most think of when you say 'I shoot landscapes'... I love the graphic, semi abstract affect you can get by isolating small areas. And I could well be wrong about the...

    Canon 70-200 Question

I did not consider the age when buying mine, which is a bit of an oversight. It seems mine is a 2009 build, but fortunately it does seem in great shape, with zoom and focus rings still feeling tight and smooth, with no play... and no dust on the internal elements. I guess for most people these...

    Canon 70-200 Question

I bought the f4 non IS version just yesterday for my 70D and I am truly thrilled with it... I got it secondhand for 350 GBP and it seems to be as mint as a used lens can be, with not a mark on the body or optics. It is by far my shapest lens and is simply a joy to use, working perfectly with the...
