Thank you for the responses and my apologies for my delay in answering. The blue screen of death, caused me a problem.

Viewing RAW on IPad 2 ??

I’m looking for some info if anyone is able to help please. I don’t use an IPad but my wife has an IPad 2. When going away on holidays I usually bring my old small laptop to transfer my Canon RAW files to, so I can view them. I have been told you can purchase an Apple IPad Connection Kit to...

    Scotland Isle of Skye, Otters?

I've managed to get a few days to myself and will be going up to Skye for a few days. I would like to spend some time looking for Otters and Sea Eagles, if anyone has any advice and directions as to where I might hit lucky I'd be very grateful.

    Cape Town / Simons town

For sunset photography try a drive along Victoria Road (M6) between Camps Bay and Llandudno. There are some wonderful big rock formations along that bit of coast. If nothing there floats your boat try the very small sandy beach at Llandudno. You access the beach from Victoria Rd onto Llandudno...

Great tutorial, thanks. So tomorrow evening I'm going to do a recce up the local church and hopefully get some trails on Saturday when there will be no moon. For the foreground I intend using one of the ornate head stones, it's been mentioned that focussing can be difficult Could I set the...

Thanks for the advice Canonman, I didn't think I'd need to go that slow. I'm just hoping for some decent weather now.

    Helicopter, blurring rotor ??

I'm in need of some advice, we have a helicopter visiting our area and I'll be taking my camera along. What shutter speed should I be using to keep the rotor blurred? Obviously I won't have time to check my results between shots, so any recomendations will be appreciated.

    Canon 500D shutter counter

That's all well and good until you reach 9999.............. then it resets to zero. Also when you insert another SD card it resets to zero. I suppose you could always keep track with a pen and paper though, lol.

    Canon 500D shutter counter

I have been trawling the web and camera forums for some time, to try to find a way of finding the shutter actuations on my Canon 500D. Today I’ve found one that actually worked, it’s an Active X control, which I ran through Malware Bytes and Eset security suite before installing, it came up...

    Dirty Sensor, advice needed.

I did think about mapping out the spots, but would really like a clean sensor. I've ordered Pec Pads, Eclipse etc. I'm suprised at the dust on the sensor after only fourteen months, I have always been very particular when changing a lens. I suppose it's inevitable that some dust will get in...

    Dirty Sensor, advice needed.

Thanks for all the response's, I put the camera in sensor cleaning mode and used my rocket blower. I found it a bit difficult to hold the camera and the blower though. A quick blow has removed two of the spots, my oppo will be around this evening and with him holding the camera I'm hoping to...

    Dirty Sensor, advice needed.

Hi Folks, I’m in need of some advice please. For a couple of months I’ve noticed a small spot on most of the photographs I’ve taken using my Canon 500D. To me it looked like a grease spot on the sensor. Tonight I’ve been a Googling and found this very good site...

    CS5 and dual monitors

One thing that caught me out using two Monitors, I had CS5 open on my smaller monitor and I'd drag the image I was working on across to my larger Monitor. After I'd finished editing the image I saved and closed it, then closed CS5 which was still open on the smaller monitor. Next time I tried...

    CS5 and dual monitors

I have that set up as you describe. It all depends on the graphics card you have in your PC. Have a look where your monitor is plugged in at the back of your PC and you might see another connection along side it. Any idea of the make and model of graphics card you presently have installed...
