Good points well made. And I suppose the whole point of my post, just a little inspiration required.

Christmas - Without Snow & Decorations

Whoops, missed off some key info. The photos will be transport themed, and to be taken in the city centre. May struggle with deer, fires and a manger :)

Christmas - Without Snow & Decorations

There's a competition going at work, where we've got two weeks to put in a couple of photographs for a Christmas card. The question is, and the inspiration I'm seeking, is how do I take photographs without snow and decorations in November, and still give the Christmas vibe? Any ideas...

Long Exposure... Where did it go wrong?

Good advice, thanks. I actually remembered about turning of VR, so 120, 121 and 122 were taken with it turned off, and they do look a lot smoother. Any chance you can explain the ISO reasoning please, as I don't really understand the situations where you would use a high or a low ISO, in...

Long Exposure... Where did it go wrong?

Thanks everyone :) Your input is much appreciated! Shows what a newb to this I am, as I usually leave the filters on, solely for the purpose of protecting the lens... I used a wireless remote for the shutter (bestofferbuy.com cheap and cheerful). Will have a look through Matts tutorial as...

Long Exposure... Where did it go wrong?

Useful info for anybody with a Nikon D5000

    Star sky exposures

I'll tag onto your thread, as I wanted to ask a similar question. I'm off to the lakes in a couple of weeks, and the place where I'm staying has no light pollution, or extreme minimal. And it's like looking at a scene from Star Wars when you look up to the skies, proper amazing scenery...

    Kodak M1033 - Broken

Hiya, I've got a Kodak M1033 which is broken. Used to use it when taking photos on site, but somehow managed to drop it, and the lens won't retract :( Pictures of the lens barrel to show you what's happened: Can anyone advise of somewhere where I'd be able to get it fixed, that's...
