Just a thought from a fellow newbie...Do you have the camera on Program mode or Auto. I know that you cant shoot continuous in Auto but can have it set in Program... Just another thought (and I could be completely wrong anyway...lol)

Interesting, thanks, I may actually eventually sell both and put towards another lens..keeping the 18-55 All lenses came to me either with the camera or as gifts. My photography is quite general at the moment..still experimenting . Appreciate the advice, thanks.

Hi All, New to the forum and just getting back into photography with my Canon 400D. I have a 18-55 kit lens but I have acquired both a 28-80 and a 35-105. As the latter two overlap my question is, is there any advantage to keeping the 28-80 as between the other two I have the range covered...
