Track Day photography shot on a slant?

Thanks for the input both, very interesting to learn more about this. @ukaskew, love your slower shutter speed shots, they look fantastic!

Track Day photography shot on a slant?

Thanks for the insight. Is the general 'rule of thumb' 20-30 degrees or does this happen to be the photographer's style? I'm not the biggest fan of reediting other people's shots, because I assume they are better than me at their trade. I was also wondering whether it just happened to be the...

Track Day photography shot on a slant?

I've been on two track days recently and looked at the photos that have been taken. I've noticed that they seem to be shot between a 20-30 degree angle compared to the horizon and also the car itself to make it look like it's going up and to the right. Is this a style thing or does this make the...

Night shot: is this motion blur or out of focus?

You know what, I completely forgot about that. Had read that when going through threads about star trails and forgot!

Night shot: is this motion blur or out of focus?

I had a 10 sec shutter delay, so don't think that was it. I think next time I just need to be a bit more ballsy with my camera! Only thing I worry about is not being about to recover the SD card after a 15 floor drop...

Night shot: is this motion blur or out of focus?

Thanks, thought it was as such. Was cursing the NEX-5R for a while too... I've been using a gorillapod but since it's on a rooftop, I keep the strap on my wrist and try my best to 'let the strap hang'. I'm guessing it's either small movements from my wrist or from the wind (it was pretty windy...

Hi guys, recently got a new camera (NEX-5R) and have been trying to take some night shots. I originally thought the AF was off when I looked at it through my camera, but on my computer it looks like its motion blur Here are 3 samples. good, bad and my favourite one which I would say is OK in...

MEMORY CARD FOUND IN LAKE DIST

If no name, maybe camera type, description of the person in the photos may help a friend identify who it might belong to?

    Just primes

Same sentiment here. 35mm is pretty nice for walking around with (I like to shoot landscapes mostly).

Would you trust your DSLR in one of these...

I've put a compact camera in one of these before, worked fine, didn't leak. Even after testing it, I still wasn't convinced to put anything work more than £100 in there. I ended up buying an underwater cam as the compact AF was terrible under water...

    Canon's new 700D anounced today.

Ahh, from the picture, it looked liked the 40mm pancake was what it was going to come with. Agreed on the 18-55

I feel like 40mm on crop is not going to be everyone's cup of tea
