    NYC skyline print

Perfect, thank you. Really useful info. I'm tempted to go for better quality and 16x11 is still sizeable. I've got a couple of other ones I might print and make a bit of a collage.

    NYC skyline print

Afternoon, I'd like to print this shot I took of the NYC skyline to go in my house (hopefully the picture is attached...). I'm planning on using DSCL as I see they are well recommended. I am aware that when I enlarge the image, I will lose quality. Can anyone point me in the direction of a...

    D5300 or D7000 + zoom lens

I was all set on the Nikon D5300 but will I miss having to pick AF-S lenses with the D5300 or should I go for the D7000 for full range of lenses? Budget is £800 max for body to replace D60 and zoom lens. Ideally would like a D7100 but puts me a bit over budget. Lens wise, looking at Sigma...

Left the camera on the car roof...

Checked our house insurance, the excess is £150 so don't think it is worth claiming if it makes future insurance more expensive. I like the sound of the d7000, the d7100 out of price range at the moment. I'll have a look at wex now. How much attention should I pay to the shutter count? Should...

Left the camera on the car roof...

Great, some starting cameras to have a look at! Don't worry, we spent the first part of the trip in mourning

Left the camera on the car roof...

And drove off on the second day of a 2 week trip to Scotland. Did about 200m before it flew off but the good old Nikon D60 survived! The corner is chipped off to reveal some wires, the small lens we have still fits on but is liable to become unconnected. The focus also searches more than...

    Zoom Lens Advice

Thanks guys. I've been out today photographing short eared owls. Got a couple of Good shots but have decided I really want further reach. Obviously to do this without comprising on quality is meaning I'm going to have to spend more money! I can afford more, just couldn't justify it. Think...

    Zoom Lens Advice

Thanks for the detailed advice. I'd prefer to get a lens that will autofocus with the D60, which unfortunately means many used lenses are off the list. I considered swapping the D60 for a newer model with AF built in, but this seems an expensive route. I have now seen the Sigma 150-500 in...

    Zoom Lens Advice

Hello! At the moment I have a Nikon D60 and a Sigma 70-300 which I have owned for a couple of years. I am into wildlife photography and am up on Mull at Easter. Last time I was there, the Sigma Lens just wasn't quite good enough, particularly in the light conditions. I have tested the...

    dslr choice ,heads battered ,help

We had the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't decide which camera to get! Had a look at both the Nikon D60 and similar priced Sony's. In the end went for the Nikon D60, as my boyfriend has two playstations break and wasn't sure of the reliabilty. However, I don't see that that would...

    Nikon D60 bundles...

Have you tried Jessops, I got my D60 from there and although I only bought the body, they had a couple of bundles you could choose from. Other option, which is what I did, is to buy the body and then buy the lens you want seperately, Hope that helps. Louise

    Nikon D60

Thanks for your help, much appreciated I've had a look at some lenses and found that the ones with the motor in the lenses seem to be more expensive. I was wondering for a beginner is auto-focus a must have, particulary with a 70-300mm lens. If so, perhaps the Canon EOS 1000D would be better...

    Nikon D60

Thanks for the quick replys. Budget is around £500 for entry level DSLR. I suppose the main things I'd be taking pictures of are birds etc. and landscapes. I was thinking a bundle like so...
