Personally I prefer to spend more time taking the perfect picture, than take a crappy pic and have to spend hours on PS fixing :) But things like polarizers cant really have their effects replicated on photoshop

Thanks for your answers. The pics will probably just be viewed on my comp. Also, am I right in thinking that 6 mp and 10 mp have an indistinguishable picture quality up to a certain size, but the bigger the picture gets, the more useful it is to have more mp to keep it at a good quality?

I'm looking into buying a DSLR and have looked at the Nikon D40. I'm seeing it's got 6.1 mega pixels and am contemplating perhaps spending a little more for the 10.2 D40x. Is there really a huge difference between the two or is it just a case of if I can afford it, go for the D40x? Thanks
