Currently my M42 mount Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar Zebra 50mm 2.8 that i won on ebay for £8. Tack sharp and creates perfectly round bokeh bubbles. Has a sticky manual focus ring but i can live with that, makes it even more charming.

I did my wife's cousins wedding entirely with a 50mm F1.4G on a D5000. I also had the 35mm F1.8 in my bag but i didn't end up using it. There were times when the focal length was a little long, like when i found my self crouched in the corner, but i just got them to move. The 50mm has lived...

Ok... I have nothing to worry about then. :) I was a bit worried as i'm sure in the manual it says you need to get the camera serviced every 2 years or something.

Has anyone had their D5000 serviced yet?? Mine is approaching 9000 shutter actuations and was wondering if i need to get it serviced? Also any idea on cost? The camera's working fine so i'm thinking if it ain't broke......

Wow... Awesome shots.

You definitely won't regret it. Since getting mine in early december it has been the only lens on my camera. I love it. It's nice to use your feet as the zoom. It will make you think more about what your composition.
