Hi I am not new I have not been on for about a year maybe more

My lens that came with my Sony a390 just over 1 year ago stopped working in AF but fine in manual mode . Everytime i put it in AF it makes a grinding sound so i use manual . I have been told its the gears . And need a new lens .

Las night took these For he moon Used my Sony a390 200mm Sigma lens from my Minolta dynax 3000 Other same camera 18mm Sony lens

I forgot to include pic of moon Taken with my sony alha a390 with 70mm - 210mm camera APS-C , and my full frame lens so the piture results are full frame . This is because my old Minolta (FULL FRAME )film slr camera & lens fit on my sony being the same mount . As Sony now own Minolta .

People tell me my photos are not always in focus but i quite often use Auto focus . The camera tells me when i am in focus . My Vision is not bad . Would the photos be better if i used manual focus ?

When my picture from my DSLR is on my computer i can check the metadata in all the data it saids X resolution 350 & Y resolution 350 . Is that dot per inch ? My old pocket camera is X res 72 & y res 72 and the picture is lesser quality and can i find out if the new camera that i am gonna buy is...
