Health/Fitness tracker watches, rambling post warning!

A chest strap is more accurate than a wrist monitor, but it might be uncomfortable to sleep with. Although this is aimed at runners, it might give you an insight: https://www.runnersworld.com/uk/gear/tech/a776637/best-heart-rate-monitors-for-runners/

    Mexico (Guadalajara) anyone been?

I was there in 2013, visiting my daughter in Mexico City where she and her partner were teaching in an international school. The Mrs and I are not into beach resorts, so we explored Mexico City and made trips up north to San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato where there is a lot of history from...

    Nikon Reverse Ring

Unfortunately a G lens has no manual aperture ring as on older lenses, so the only way to set aperture on a reversed G lens is to jam the aperture tab open somehow. How much would be trial and error as you have no indication of aperture setting. The alternative is to get a cheap lens with...

    D7200 software

Lightroom 5 does not support D7200 raw files. You can continue to use LR5 and convert nefs to dng or tiff, or you can upgrade LR5 to LR6 which does support D7200 raw. Adobe do not make it easy to find the 5 to 6 upgrade, follow these instructions if you want to go that way: (costs about £65...

    Nikon D750 & D780

Explanation why here (scroll down to effective f stop). Nikon reports effective aperture, other makes report actual aperture for macro lenses. http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/macro-lenses.htm

    Nikon 300mm F4 IF-ED AFS

My 300mm f/4 AF/S does exactly the same. It is getting gradually worse now and I have to cycle the focus back and forth manually to get it to AF at all when first using it. It gets better as it warms up, but it still squeals. AF is still fast and accurate though. I'll keep using it until it...

    Nikon D750 & D780

The CanAm version, with the 302 cu in (5 litre) V8 was only built in south africa, only 100 were made to homologate them for racing and rallying.

    Nikon D750 & D780

Agreed, great shots. That is actually a Chevrolet Firenza CanAm 302 that Jimmy McRae is driving. I was privileged to see and hear the track versions of these cars racing back in the 70s. http://www.streetlegaltv.com/news/chevrolet-firenza-can-am-south-africas-muscle-car/.

Thanks for that, just tried it and it works as advertised in LR 6.2

    Lightroom Panoramic merge

Because HDR and panorama are features in LR6 already, we should get any bug fixes to these features (I hope). BTW, you can add dehaze to LR6 as a user preset, but with fixed values (no slider). I have 10%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% preset values. Google how to do it. Here is a 9 shot handheld...
