    Nikon D7xxx owners thread

Got both the 16-85 and 70-300 now (from MPB), managed to use the 16-85 last week indoors as it's not really conducive to photography outside recently :P Strat by Jim Roberts, on Flickr Good detail, handles well and is pretty small, perfect little general purpose lens. Yet to use the 70-300...

Lightroom screwing up colours on import

Awesome thanks all, especially David those screenshots were really helpful - found a profile called 'Vivid' which looks a lot more like the JPEG output and looks much better straight away ('landscape' looks good too).

Lightroom screwing up colours on import

Lovely thanks Nick, that makes sense as I've been shooting JPEG for a while on my new Nikon, only switched back to my normal RAW this weekend but somehow didn't put 2 + 2 together! I'll have to put some time into making a preset which brings the pics back to life a bit, in most cases I might...

Lightroom screwing up colours on import

Hi all - I was taking a few pics yesterday, shot in RAW and imported into Lightroom (ver 4.4 I think) on my Win 7 PC, as I skip through the newly imported images in the Library view, the image appears nicely balanced and well saturated for a second or two, and then it looks as if Lightroom...

Canon 5D MK I 'classic' - owners thread

Check the Canon site for a repair centre, using the UK site it appears there's a centre in the UAE which might be an option. Apart from shipping, this should be a free repair, and as lemo said I think the new parts are redesigned in such a way that you really shouldn't see the mirror fall out...

Good news thanks Paul, hoping to get some time with the 35 this weekend, 70-300 and 16-85 due to arrive next week sometime :)

    Nikon D7xxx owners thread

Bit late to the party as usual... but I just got a D7100 :) I've been Canon for the last 5yrs or so, but to me it seems like their crop camera line up has a bit of a gap at the moment, which for £460 new with 3yr warranty, the D7100 has filled. Got out and shot a few pics last weekend with a...

Canon 5D MK I 'classic' - owners thread

Yep, got mine back yesterday - looks like the fix includes a new mirror, a few plates and a new focusing screen too. I can recommend Fixation in London - they were very good, and seemed completely aware of the Canon recall etc. Oh and mine is a 2xxx serial no. Unfortunately I'm thinking about...

CSC or Micro4/3rds for Action shots?

Just to update this I went completely off the rails, and got a Nikon D7100! 7D was looking too old and lacks features, and I couldn't justify a 7D mk2. Got a brand new D7100 with 3yr warranty for £460, so far I'm really impressed with it.

CSC or Micro4/3rds for Action shots?

Thanks all, I'll have to go full circle back to a 7D for the winter, as an EM1 with the 40-150 (which looks like a cracking lens) is a substantial outlay and sounds less than ideal. I have a canon 70-200 f4 which I could use for now, trade up to the IS version for weather sealing later...

Canon 5D MK I 'classic' - owners thread

Hi Luis, still eligible for mirror repair free of charge apparently, otherwise I'd have been tempted just to carefully superglue it back in myself. Think mine was a later serial, a 2 or a 3 but I'll check when it gets back!

CSC or Micro4/3rds for Action shots?

Thanks all for the info, Oly EM1 weather sealing and lens selection still has me torn; might see if I can trial one before I commit as I'll know within 2 mins of outdoor shooting if I can get on with it or not!

Mirror popped out of my 5D :( goes off this week for repair.

CSC or Micro4/3rds for Action shots?

So my basic question is: Are there any recommendations out there for a CSC /M43 system that is going to offer me decent continuous AF + burst performance? Or should I just give up and concede that I'm destined to carry a 7D around for 'dog in motion' pictures? To fill that question out a bit, I...

First video attempt. Looking to improve (significantly)

Nice, I can't really offer any further film making tips but I thought the film was pretty good - as with photography, to shoot an interesting video you have to stand in front of interesting things, and I think you did pretty well on that part. I always sift through youtube for interesting film...
