    Thanks for your replies everyone, I've not had time to re look at this yet, but hopefully after the new year i'll be able to get out and give it another go. Going to get the pro version of quick time, see how i get on with that, hopefully get out into the lakes for some night/ sunrise lapses...

    I used windows movie maker, created a slide show and just set the frame delay to 0.05 secs. I see alot of people have Lightroom 3 so was thinking of trying to get a copy of that, but not sure weather that would do all the editing I'd need (inc time lapse stuff) or if I would need photoshop...
