    Just tried another couple, same thing, - BUT also just re transferred a few of the previous corrupted shots and they are ok on second download. What does that mean? Off to reload all the pictures I thought I had lost!

    Thank you for your ideas. Will borrow another card tomorrow and have a laptop coming over to try that. Have already formatted the card - no difference. Will post results tomorrow. Thanks everyone.

    The memory card is a Sandisk UltraII SDHC 4GB, I got it at the same time as the camera and don't have another to try. With my old camera,I used to remove the card and put it directly into the computer to download pictures, but can't do it with this one. Have to use the cable supplied.

    These 3 are typical of the problem. This doesn't happen all the time, many shots are fine. There is no way of telling which pictures it's going to happen to either - all look normal on the viewfinder. I'm also a complete novice on the computer, so make it simple please!:)
