Not the best shot (dodgy PP from me sorry) but the below was taken with my 120-400 hand held. I like the lens and for the money its really good but would like to get the Canon 100-400 L at some point to replace it.

I went from a 350D to a 40D end of last year, could not be more happy. :) Welsh Dan, is that a spot of dust on your 40D sensor, middle left ish(just above the plug) in the picture?

24-105L, great lens, love it to bits. Next will be the 100-400L :)

Can't help you with the price (will keep my eyes open for you though mate) but I can highly recommend the 24-105L. I got one when I upgraded from a 350D to a 40D and it’s a great lens very sharp! :)
