A question for laptop users with Lightroom...

Exactly that. There really is little point in calibrating for the web, as no two monitors have the same viewing output. Print though is a different matter entirely. The colours have to be absolutely spot on (providing the printing company are up to spec, but then they should be)

Help needed please - to spec my first iMac

It's worth bearing in mind that unlike a PC there's really not much more you can do to an iMac to ramp up the speed. That's one of the reasons I got rid of mine. The one good thing is they do hold their value really well, much better than a PC.

A question for laptop users with Lightroom...

It's not uncommon. We would process hundreds of images a week using iMacs that hadn't ever been professionally calibrated where I used to work.

Help needed please - to spec my first iMac

The new iMacs are pretty nice machines, but is there a reason you feel you need to switch from Windows to OS X? It's just that for the money you would spend on an iMac you could get a much better spec pc and monitors. I had an iMac at home but recently sold it and decided on a Windows pc. I...

    Sony A6000

I'm really undecided on whether to pick up an A6000. The cash back offer is tempting. The main thin that is putting me off though is the real lack of E mount lenses. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get by without some kind of 300mm lens. That's why it's got me looking at an Olympus omd em1.

Mid Life Crisis - What Car to get

Been there done that. I bought a knackered non running rusty old mk1 mx5 and did it up. Learnt some good man skills in the process (engine out, loads of cutting and welding etc). Is much fun and I can highly recommend it. Of course even after turbo-ing it etc you'll have plenty of change from £15k

    Cannon 400mm 5.6L lens

    Anyone with TalkTalk!! :(

If you'll just hop down off your high horse for a minute and re-read my post you'll notice I said I didnt agree with or condone what he did. Nothing wrong with my moral compass thanks. And no I dont work in IT or banking, not that its really any of your business.

    Anyone with TalkTalk!! :(

Breaking into my house wouldnt make him talented, no. Mainly because my house is relatively easy to break into. All you need is a brick or a crowbar and youre in. Credit where credit is due. I dont agree with or condone what he did. But what he did was not easy and required a bit of skill...

    Anyone with TalkTalk!! :(

One of the financial institutions or someone like Symantec will be offering him a job in a year or so. He might be a little s***, but he's a talented little s***.

    Sony A6000

I'm sorely tempted by one these. I've got to the point where I cant be bothered to take a DSLR if I'm going out and about, its just too much to lug around. I've tried mirrorless before (Panasonic G5) and while I really liked the small form factor the autofocus speed was a real let down. I...
