    Backpacking with a camera

It's not any cheaper but I use (and sell) a Clik Elite Contrejour 40 which would easily fit your camera kit and is very comfortable to wear too! I wouldn't want to try to take a fortnight's worth of stuff in though - I agree with the idea of your own inserts, any camera backpack that size is...

    Best compact travel tripod, just

And it is a monopod - and it's only 30cm when folded (oh and it's sexy Carbon Fibre and comes with a quality Neoprene bag LOL)

    Reverse grads

Right so the company that admits that they CAN'T make them says that they don't see the point.... That's probably not the least biased opinion :) I've got a Hitech one for testing but don't seem to be able to find decent sunsets at the moment - I will try to make an effort today and will post...

    Trekking Bag

I use the Clik Elite 40 to carry clothes, food, water bladder, etc as well as camera kit, it sounds perfect for you EXCEPT I'd be amazed if you could get it on as hand luggage, and I wouldn't want to capsize with that in my boat... I don't know if they still do them but Lowe Pro used to do a...

Tripod: Carbon Fibre v Aluminium advice please

Hi Gary, What are you going to be using on the tripod? If your kit actually weighs 8kg I would buy a heavier rated one personally. Weight ratings are a bit like quoted battery life times for your phone (nit always practical). If it is that heavy I'm guessing it's a medium or large format set...

weekly JamesTux 52 for 2014 Week 8 Ending

Can I edit a post? Thanks for the feedback again - as I can't see how to edit here is the thinking behind them: Mineral - This is exactly how I see a mineral - it's the end of a geological process and it looks organic - like spores erupting from fungus. Sense - It was just the look of the...

    Chrome vs Opera

Your welcome :) I pretty much live on the internet LOL - I have my own sites and work with some others so I test on all major browsers and phones/tablets - it gets a bit boring!! But some browsers are definitely better at things than others (like images and FF). Anyway, glad that I could help!

    Chrome vs Opera

I just don't like the ui, it all feels a bit 90s to me, no real reason! It also doesn't feel as fast as Chrome. I've been using Opera since they were the first with tabbed browsing and mouse gestures so that's got a soft spot with me :)

    Chrome vs Opera

I would look at Firefox, it's the best for colour management, Chrome is pretty poor, especially if you have a wide gamut screen. Having said that Firefox is my least favourite browser despite its colour management credentials.

A story of Incident light metering

I still use mine a lot, the other thing thatcan be difficult is that the meter has to be where the subject will be, pretty difficult in changeable light or for a fast moving or dangerous subject :)
