    Visit to Wildlife heritage foundation

I went to WHF a while ago and some of the enclosures don't let much light in. Having the faster lens might prove helpful. If on a photography day they let you up to the inner fence on some of the enclosures so you could be pretty close too.

    100 Strangers Complete!!

Nonsense, I haven't been distracted by it once. This is a wonderful project with such high quality work. I am am envious of your balls to ask strangers in the street for their photo coupled with your ability at putting them at ease for their photo. This is superb work.

    Vulcan flights to end

Allegedly... The last 4 years have been the last season for a variety of insurmountable reasons which, in the end, were overcome. I'll believe it when I see it and it will be sad to see it go, when it goes. Good way of drumming up bookings though...

Well all I can say is "b****r....."

All the best for it, hope you're up on your feet sooner rather than later.

    Tell me about RIAT please

The 200-400 is ideal if you have one. I've no clue on nikon gear, is that a cropped sensor body? The main issue that will give you is potential difficulties panning at lower speeds. Something a bit longer would be probably helpful for stuff on the ground (covering up to about 100 ideally)

Well all I can say is "b****r....."

That it is, but it is possible to break out of the loop, I had a discectomy and am now doing much better as a result. If you can sit up you can do core exercises. Just trying to offer some hope, not belittle your injury, it's rough going having a terrible back.

Well all I can say is "b****r....."

Hope you're better soon. Weak back can be solved with lots of core strength exercises (all low impact). Takes time to build up but worth doing

    Harness

A Black rapid strap would do the job nicely. I've carried a heavy combo for miles on one.

    Lake District- where to visit

Tarn Hows is beautiful and worth a visit on a good day. I was shocked at the ritual parking heist, daylight robbery parking in the lake district!

Beginner Back button and auto focus

I use both configurations. BBF I have found useful for wildlife where you're sat on AI Servo (makes sense to be here as faffing with switching it will lose you some shots if you suddenly need it) so you can focus and recompose. I shoot with my right eye so I can keep the other open which helps...

    5D3, 24-105, jittery IS

That's an odd sweeping remark. Whether you need IS or not is a considerably more complex decision than 'is it the daytime?'. Type of shot, shutter speed, stance of the photographer, physical limitations of the photographer, focal length etcetera... Sounds like a fault to me unfortunately

    Camera insurance

If you read all of the post, Bob, you will see I mentioned that a friend has claimed through them with no bother... I haven't myself though.

    Camera insurance

If you have anything online anywhere which offers images for sale (you don't have to have sold anything, just be trying to), house insurance won't pay out (assuming they find it). The same goes for equipment used to process said photos (monitor, PC etc.). Glover & Howe have always been good...

Where did you get the strap for the X100S, Barry?
