Best arca-swiss plate/foot for canon 500mm f4 IS II USM with wimberley MH100

Can’t vouch for any after market variants. As I’ve only used the Wimberley replacement feet. Which I’ve found to be top notch (though not the cheapest) This is where I bought all of mine from. And the one you want in particular...

Canon EF 400mm DO IS USM Mk1/Mk2 Owners thread

I had the Mark II until I chopped it in for funds towards an RF 600mm. I often look on the likes of WEX occasionally to see if they have any good copies in the used section. As I’d definitely buy another one for its portability and lightness. I use a 300mm 2.8 II with an extender in...

    Canon EOS R Series Cameras

Yeah they can be a PITA to put on at first. I presume it’s the same as the 600 and my old 500 II was. In that you just need to kinda let it “drop” flat into place before starting to screw it tight. If that makes sense :D

The GAS confessional - all who suffer are welcome. :)

It’s surprisingly light too. I held one alongside the 24-105 2.8 at the photography show; as the black version looks pretty much identical. Just to see how much more the 70-200 likely weighed. But the 70-200 is actually (noticeably) the lighter of the two…

The GAS confessional - all who suffer are welcome. :)

Yeah, I held one at the photography show on Tuesday. Just to see the handling difference compared to my EF 300mm II. It’s amazing how canon have made these new big whites as light as they have for what they are. As much as I’d love one though. The 600mm I bought new last year will have to do :D

    Canon EOS R Series Cameras

This is exactly why I first allowed the R7 in our house to go collecting dust. I thought, after using an R5 with grip; that the balancing using bigger lenses would feel off. But I became surprised quite quickly at how well balanced it feels. Not as comfortable as the gripped body obviously. But...

    Canon EOS R Series Cameras

The R7 is a great little camera. I’ve been using the one in our household alongside my R5 for a while now (rather than collecting dust waiting for my partner to use it… ) Every EF lens I’ve used on these R series bodies have been significantly better than when I used them on my 5 series prior...

Thanks, Tim. That’s the canon connect app you’re referring to?

    Canon EOS R Series Cameras

Has anyone tried the Canon RC-6 remote with any of the R series cameras by any chance? Or could recommend one similar priced. I can’t seem to find any straight answer online as to whether it’s compatible with my R5. And for the amount of use it’ll get; I don’t fancy shelling out on anything too...

@Phil V Did you get to have a look at any of the standard zooms you were researching at the show this week then, Phil?

    Monopod/Ballhead Recommendaion

I’ll aecond this My Monogimbal + monopod setup has been great for my longer lenses. Bit of extra cost initially; what with having to buy the replacement feet or plates. But totally worth it in the long run.

Beginner Starting out with Cameras .. (Canon)

I’d also recommend trying out the other brands in person too. Back when I first started out; it was (mainly) the likes of Canon and Nikon to choose from. First thing I was told when trying them out (and something I’ll always say to anyone now) is to choose the brand which feels best in your...
