Well maybe people with rich parents have the luxury to study anything they want but the normal person cant afford to spend 3 years and 40 thousands unless it helps them get a better job.

Personally I have never seen much value in the formal group shots from weddings as a memory of individuals. When my grandmother died, I created a photo montage as a memory. Despite her appearing in dozens of formal wedding photographs, none of these made the montage as none gave a clue to her...

Agreed... it's a great camera for this, picture quality is superb and low light performance is good. If you are used to relying on a zoom for framing it takes a bit of getting used to a fixed lens. I too take the x100 with me all the time when I leave the D300 at home.

Thanks for the advice. I think I knew that a Nikon body was the rational option...just the sentimental side of me considered the ME. So yes, a FM or FE body is the way to go. Luckily, there are quite a few on ebay so shouldn't be too long before I get my mits on one.

Have purchased two lenses from them on different visits and found them helpful and pleasant. They were giving loads of advice to a student while I was there and seemed happy to spend time explaining and answering questions. I'll be back there soon to get a film body for my evening class
