A weekend away in Lisbon, one zoom and one prime suggestions please.

There is a mass of stuff to shoot in Lisbon so various focal lengths may be required. I shot pretty much 50/50 with the 10-24 and 16-55

Cost of DIY film processing per roll

Another consideration Chris is room "A" to store the gear when not in use "B" a temp darkroom area to set the gear up in when in use. I suppose also it depends on how many rolls you intend to use / develop, not now as it's new to you but say in 6 to 12 months time. Another avenue to consider is...

Show us yer film shots then!

Cheers Chris, as this is from my first roll and it was a test one as is my second roll, I am not to bothered about the sky. halos etc and other failures I can spot within the image, the main thing is the learning curve knowning what is wrong and to correct these for the next time. Plus I'm sure...

Show us yer film shots then!

Cheers John, yes the sky is not a 100% just like a few more things within the image but it's my first role of film so still lots to learn but happy with the start, it's like the stake in the ground, I now move on with this film venture, it's all mono for me with film

Show us yer film shots then!

After having issues with the first couple of rolls of film, this being my venture / project (long term I know) into monos, film and medium format, I finally ran a test role of Ilford PanF 50 through my Mamiya 645 pro with I think reasonable success, still loads to learn though. On this evening...

ordered a 5D mkII any pointers welcome

It is possible the Mk 111 could be on the horizon as Canon's 3 year cycle for the 5DMk 11 comes up next month, but with what happened in Japan eariler this year the Mk111 could be delayed as the Mk11 was in short supply for ages. But whatever you've still got a super camera, beware though the...

    Rolliecord IV advice

So Chris how have you got on with your first roll of film, took me a couple of rolls to get the hang of loading etc and out of those I even managed a couple of exposures that could be used LOL, mind you that was on the Mamiya 330 now as you know I've progressed to a Mamiya 645 pro,two months in...

    POCKET WIZARD

Like Richard says you can use really fast shutter speeds in High speed sync mode, used it only a couple of time both around 1/1250 sec. They are an expensive purchase and you do right to check things out. If there is a company near you and I think there is in Birmingham - The Flash Centre you...

Canon 5dMk2 - Cracking up.. Has anyone else experienced?

My 5D Mk11 fell over on the tripod, long story but it cracked the top body section and top LCD also. Canon charged £170.00 for the repair, took about a month as parts were required from Japan. Oh mine was covered via insurance

    POCKET WIZARD

I have used the TT1 and Flex units with 580EX 11 and 430EX11 with a 5DMk11 for quite a few months now without any issue that you mentioned. These PW are a superb bit of kit, oh and also started using them on a Mamyia 645 early days but so far no issues here either.

    HDR question

Set the camera to AV select around F11 ISO 100 should be ok set camera to bracketing and select + 2 -2 change to continuous shooting use a remote or if not the timer function and that will do the trick shutter speed is not that important on the tripod be firing the shutter with a remote is...

    Question regarding bracketing

You will need a tripod otherwise when merging the handheld shots they will not merge straight due to you moving the camera in the 2nd & 3rd shots LesF

    Donna Nook - 21st/22nd November

Sorry by been so close the damage was done, IMO you were not respecting the seals enviroment, you and the combination of flash been so close will have not done any favours for that seal or the mother. It was not only you but there were other photographers also plainly not respecting the seals...
