Is VR really worth the difference?

I'd rather having a decent tripod than spending my money on VR lenses :D

Manfrotto 7322YB Tripod, Anyone used it?

Looks pretty decent to me though, esp with ~ £55, you get a tripod & a ball head that weight only 1.1kg and can hold up to 2kg (My D90 only weights around 1300-1500g, with a lens attached. Well, of course you won't want this with a heavy D3 or D700+ grip + 24-70 etc though..) Also, you get a...

Tamron 70-300mm F4/5.6 DI LD Macro (Nikon AF) Nikon D40

It has the AF motor, so yes, it will AF on your D40. The lens is great for macro shots, however, the lack of VR is quite critical for this range (70-300), you will need a tripod for it :)

    Nikon 50mm f1.4 lenses

It's better in some flaring situation, but as far as I see there will be almost no difference in the image quality  The only advantage u got out of it is the AF-S mechanism, in which I guess you don't really need with your D300  I'm really want to try out the AF-S version but...

    Remote Shutter release for D300s

Hold on, why on earth does the far more superior + expensive D300S doesn't have it while the D90/ D3000, even the D40 etc has? I'm going to buy one for my D90 (although I don't really need it!!!), lol £3.65 is too cheap to be true, providing that it's working perfectly

Show me your nikon Nifty fifty pics please

Thanks mate  YES I see, the same problem happened to my 35f/2D and 50f/1.4D when i put both the CPL filter + the Hood onto it. Even tried buying another 35f/2D and the same problem still occurs, figured out later on but well, I think that's fairly ok anyway....

@Tomas, Rob: does it worth upgrading from the 50f/1.4D to the 50f/1.4G? Provided that I already got a D90 which has its own AF motor... I'm so tempting after seeing you guys' photos arrgggggg
