    I hate Fuji!

I know quite a few Leica users who are considering it, mainly those who are still shooting ever-more-expensive film but who can't afford an m9. Must say I'm tempted but I'll see where things are at a few months down the line. Doubt I'll ever sell my M6 though.

    Fuji mirrorless ILC X-PRO

It's a 52mm filter thread so go off that. Looks very promising to me. http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2012/01/04/the-new-fuji-x-pro1-details-yep-fuji-is-in-this-to-win-it/

    Shooting exclusively film

I shoot film.. Sold off my D700 and 35/50/85mm lenses and now I just use a Leica M6. I had both for a little while but for me shooting film is just more fun and more personal. Plus no-one takes you seriously, which is kind of good. I keep thinking of getting a X10 or X100 just so I have...

is nintendo about to cause dslr revolution...

Without wishing to sound skeptical about something I know very little about, it sounds similar to HDR - some people like it, others don't. Personally photography for me is about light and dark and how you manipulate it, not about seeing 'everything'. I suppose for the casual user it may have...

    Magnum Photographer Bruce Gilden

You kinda sound like you're promoting him to be honest! I'm not sure how sticking a flash in someone's face captures anything reflective of their world, but maybe that's just me. :) One of the photographers in that link above is as you describe, Ricky Powell. In terms of the younger...

    Magnum Photographer Bruce Gilden

Comparable in what regard? Not my favourite photographer by any means, but is this of any use: http://www.everybodystreet.com/ ? There used to be a longer version on there too, with more people, but it seems to have disappeared.

    Jessops, Liverpool

The new Trafford Centre store is better too, more space and more easily accessible items. Few new products like Billingham bags, too. Tills aren't in the best place though, they block the aisles when they're making sales (Shock horror they were actually the cheapest online for a lens). Still...

I need to buy INT273 or something similar for Saturday evening..

Calumet most definitely, they have a wide range of reflectors - both own brand and other branded items and every time I've been in they have plenty in stock. Great place to deal with.

    Laptop suddenly stopped working

Not sure if it's the same issue, as I've only heard it relate to HP, Sony and I think Apple products, but I guess it could be. If I remember correctly it's the NVidia 9400 graphics chip that's defective. Unfortunately HP don't recognise it as being a genuine fault and won't recall it (mine is...

    Laptop suddenly stopped working

What make/model/year is it? It may be the graphics chip overheating and could require a new motherboard. I'm only saying this as it sounds like the same fault as mine. It's a known issue with a certain NVidia chip.

Nikon D700 official owners/users thread, anything related to the D700

Sounds like you've got minimum shutter speed turned on? It's in the menus under Auto ISO Sensitivity or something like that.

    Fujifilm pearl prints.. anyone tried?

I had one printed as a sample (a mono from DSCL). It is impressive, but I don't think I'll be using it again for a framed print. Going to have a word with my framer next time to see what type of glass they are using as the refelections were a bit frustrating.

    Jessops price hike...

I know Kerso's price was a lot cheaper than that back in June so I'd definitely give him a shout.

D700 owners - Are you happy?

    1. Yes - I use up to 6400 without much thought. 2. I don't really crop that much, but it seems fine to me when I do. 3. It's far superior to the 5D mkI, can't comment on the mkII. 4. I have a 5D and a D700, bought the D700 for the AF and high ISO. The D700 doesn't disappoint, but at the same...
