I have bought a Interfit EX150 lighting kit which [I] have linked to my Canon 50D via the sync socket. Problem is, everything works ok until I use 'live view on the camera, then the lights don't work. Any ideas? Thanks.

I always shoot Raw + Jpeg. The Jpeg is just so I can recognise them after download (or upload) on the PC. I have saved many a self inflicted disaster by editing in Raw which would of been impossible if I had just shot Jpeg.

Well personally, judging by some of the photographs that are winning competitions nowadays, I think that from now on I will be sticking two fingers up to the rules!

After doing photography for over 40 years, I have now come to the conclusion that there are too many rules and regulations as far as this art is concerned. I've always thought that photography is a matter of personal opinion and taste, similar to how an artist would paint! I should imagine...

How come you don't see the old slave unit anymore. Is it because of todays flashguns? I remember in the pre digital era, you could get slave units for next to nothing to fire the extra flashguns. Nowadays, we have to fork out for Wireless triggers and like. Or am I missing something?

Yes I too have learnt a lot from this. There have been some good examples here as usual. Although I have been doing this for over 40 years, I have mainly learnt from my mistakes. I am still learning, because I still make mistakes! Many thanks.

Thanks people. I think Nod has helped this 'problem' in a different manner by using the word 'adjust'. It gives a slighty different and less invasive term, although basically it's the same outcome! Would more models prefer to be 'adjusted' than 'touched'? Although the former can sound...
