Cheers Dave. Will have to look that one up. I found the Poloroid unit but having rresearched it a bit it seems to be very inaccurate on exposures so I'll be giving that one a miss.
Likes the sound of this thread now. Must be more folks on here with willing ralatives/friends. As far as I am concerned Kids, boy/girl, adults, men/woman Older folks who often have life/weather worn faces full of character and life experience. wrinkles? Don't hide 'em. I want to photograph 'em...
Hi all.
Looking for a flash with bounce head and a smaller fixed front facing built n flash for fill in. I've heard about a Polaroid unit but don't know anything about it. Cullman used to do them but they see to have dissapeared. Any ideas would be useful. It will be used on a Nokon D300/D7000...
Are you guys getting your technicals mixed up? It seems like some of you are talking from the perspective of film cameras and some of cameras using digital sensors. On a film camera the aperture does indeed control how much light reaches the film plane as much as the shutter controls...
I would imagine you are using the Nikon software to download your images. You don't have to do this but can use instead Windows itself and just copy and paste from the memory card in 'My Computer'. From there you can name all files to whatever suits you.
Not used one personally but have a look at the Nikon D80. It sells for about £280 S/H and has a lot going for it. As others have said a 50mm would be a good choice but may be a bit limited for kids as they rarely stay still. A zoom lens will give you more options to chase them without moving...
Nikkor 80-200 f2.8 two touch is best for IQ but heavy and no VR, (equivelent of canon's IS). As many others have already said, Nikkor 70-300 is a good lens and has VR too. It is also lightweight compaired to the 80-200. Only negative is it's a bit soft at the long end. This can be minimized by...

Thank's for that folks. I will try not to offend anyone and if I do then by all means say something. I'll probably not even be aware I've done it!:bonk:
By the way. Can anyone tell me how to create an album so I can amuse you guys with my artistic efforts:). I tried to follow the instructions...
Thanks Gingerweazel. Checked out the link. Interesting. Maybe I'll run a side by side test of the
D300 & D7000 on higher ISO settings. If and when I get round to it I'll post results in pics for anyopne who is interested.
Okay so I am puzzled. I have a D300 and a D7000 and both are fantastic cameras. I won't part with either. I regularly use the D300 at 1600 ISO with impressive results. Likewise the D7000 puts in an excelent performance in this area. Although I've not made direct comparrisons I would say there is...
Hi all.
Been trawling the web for a photo forum that apealed and I am hoping I have found it here. I have recently discovered that I am prone to offending folks without even knowing it. Yes it has taken me forty some years to work this one out so I guess I'm not too smart either. :)!!
I've...
