Just thought I'd bump this thread as I've just entered the world of the iPhone too, so will be having a read through to download some decent apps!

    photography clubs, who's in one?

I joined my local club (Oxford Photographic Society) a few weeks ago and so far it's great. I also went on my first photo walk yesterday which was fun, although it showed me just how much I still have to learn! At this stage I'm just happy to be in the company of far more...

Useful tog apps for the iPhone

Well I've finally biten the bullet and got rid of my Blackberry and got an iPhone 4. :D I've had a look at what photography based apps are avaliable and was wondering what ones (if any) people would recommend? The two obvious ones for me would be Photoshop and also the Flickr app, but I've...

    Buying first DSLR...

Easy(ish) choice for me really. I already had a Nikon DSLR and had a couple of extra lenses, so when I came to replace it I either had to stick to Nikon or sell up and switch to Canon. My old Nikon (a D40) was a great camera so I was more than happy to stay with Nikon (plus the Canon's just...

    Hairy Goat

I picked up a leaflet from some guy standing outside Marylebone Station yesterday from a company called Hairy Goat. They run photographic mystery tours in london as well as photo courses. The tour is £30 for 3 hours. I was just wondering if anyone here had any experience of them? Looks...

What do you do in your lunch break at work?

Depends really. Usually try and get out of the office with some of the other guys to grab something to eat, or nip to the shops/bank etc. Then come back to the office and either have a browse on 'tinterweb or go upstairs to the gaming room and have a go on the PS3/Wii/Xbox. Either that or...

    North Carolina

Either go inland to the mountains or towards the coast. There isn't much in the middle to be honest.

    Tameron 70-300mm?

:plusone: for the 55-200mm VR. I've got one and for the price I paid for it, it's a cracking lens. True it doesn't have the reach of the 300mm Tamron, but the IQ is much better, plus it has VR. I'd say get this and then save up for a better 300mm lens when you can afford it.

How to Take Stunning Pictures On TV

I agree that doing some of the above would have made a better, more informative show, however the problem is that to fit in all of the above would take more than a 25 minute show, and would also run the risk of becoming overly technical to the people that this programme was, afterall, aimed at...

No wonder High st shops are disappearing

I've purchased both my DSLR's and my compact from Jessops and whenever I've been into my local branch they've been excellent. Although to be fair I always make sure I do my research before I go in so I know roughly what I'm looking for, but on the whole I've had no problems with the customer...

Additional kit (lenses) for a trip to Kenya?

Cheers! I'll certainly be doing that once we've got accomodation etc sorted. I don't fancy paying tour operator prices and get to drive around in big crowds!
