Bird watchers in Goring, West Sussex

I've seen them too, There was a Bird of prey on the power lines when I saw them looked like a Red Kite. Don't know if he was a target of opportunity though as there is at least one breeding pair in the local. atb Jim

    Camerabox ???

Hi All, Just wondering if anybody has used Camerabox for equipment, the prices are quite tempting specifically the Nikor 55-200 afs Dx that is currently £70 cheaper than Jessops. Any comment's re reliability, returns issues and general service. Cheers

    Which Flash? D40

The SB 600 is a fantastic unit but at nearly 4x (SB600) or 2x (SB400) the budget that the OP has I would expect it to be. Idealy one of these units could be sourced second hand, failing that however I've used a Jessops model for years with 35mm, it's always done everything required. Horses...

    Which Flash? D40

Jessops have some dedicated Nikon flash guns, theres one with ttl metering for about £35. HERE As with everything you get what you pay for, but to answer your question the benefits include added range and power to the flash and depending on the model the ability to bounce the light by changing...

    Nikon D40 v Sony a200

It maybe the Sony backfocusing issue, I had 2 A200's which both suffered badly with this affliction:(. It is when the camera focuses behind the subject at which you are aiming and thus trying to focus on. There are fixes but to be honest I would take the camera back and get a new one. If...

    Sony Software Rootkit problems

Cheers JPS, it was the latest V3 that I installed, the rootkit warning makes sense as it will not let go, tis the same way some virus' keep coming back, once in the registry they store away nearly all the program someware unnassuming. I think I will have to do a scan in safe and let the AV...

    Sony Software Rootkit problems

Hi All, Hope this is the right sub-forum to ask this question! Two weeks ago I purchased a Sony DSLR and installed the software supplied with the camera (namely raw viewer, Sony picture utility etc.) As I installed it my AV told me that their was a virus(rootkit) being loaded with the disc...

    Is this a good idea?

It's a very good idea.;) For around £500 you could pick up the D60 18-55VR kit + a nice Nikor 55-200 as well, that would give you a very versatile platform for most types of photography that you will ititially encounter or wish to pursue. However the best advice is always to try before you...
