Show us yer film shots then!

Some 35mm images using my new scanner, the difference in acuity between a flatbed and dedicated 35mm scanner, even a cheap one, is amazing. All Fuji Superia 400

Show us yer film shots then!

Yes, I've re-scanned the neg and cloned out that brickwork on the right-edge and those circular marks in the sky aren't present now. The halo is from my editing ... i'll just have a more precise go at it another time to sort it. I quite like it actually, looks a bit like a stand developed film.

    Monochrome filters....

Thanks, that's in line with what i've been reading. The blue filter seems to induce a light fog effect too, especially in landscapes. I'm still going to give it a try for a more gritty portrait though as for someone with blue eyes it would darken skin tones and really brighten the eyes which...

    Monochrome filters....

I think I'll have to get both a cheaper red and orange filter and then do 3 shots unfiltered, orange and red to compare. I'll just be using cheaper 7dayshop/ kood square filters so it's not bad to buy a selection to try. I'll get a blue one too and post the results of a portrait if they're...

    Monochrome filters....

Thanks for the examples, that's useful information. I'm looking at ordering a full red and a graduated orange for more conservative shots. Any chance that anybody's used a blue filter for portraits? Apparently it can give the effect of a tintype with very bright eyes and darker skin tones (to...

    Monochrome filters....

Hi, I've got some shots back from a walk about taking landscapes on some Tmax 400, they're nice and when exposed well look great but I'm missing the ability to darken the blues in the sky like I could with digital. I understand that this can be done fairly easily with coloured filters namely...

portrait locations around Huddersfield, possibly Leeds

Hi, I'm looking to start some model photography in the Huddersfield/ Leeds area and i'm currently thinking of locations. Does anyone have any particular favourite locations in the area? Also, is anyone planning any model shoots in the area that I could come along to and learn a bit...

    Starting Out.

yeah, don't do this.... Approach wedding photographers in your local area and help out for free. After a couple of weddings try and get some paid work either assisting or on your own (small wedding) and then once you've built up a basic portfolio start marketing yourself as a wedding...

    Film Developing in the UK

if a company made a scanner like that with some sort of near enough "auto-develop" machine for film all within a £500 price range then digital would be in serious trouble, especially if it could do medium format.

    Film Developing in the UK

Anyone tried drum scanning from here? It's certainly cheap for drum scanning and the sample images look incredible. Just wondering if anyone's used them and could give their experience? It seems to be run by Tim Parkin, a large format photog so sounds like it should be good.
