    Flasgun repair

I imagine the only way it would be cost effective to repair is if you have a go yourself as its currently a dead unit anyway and theres likely to be a cost to just investigating the fault. No suggestions for repair other than the nikon approved list on their website. One other suggestion is to...

    Future (affordable) classics?

Sigma DP1 with the Fovenon sensor and the Fuji S3/S5 for me. Long term classic Digitals will be about cameras that captured light "differently" Nick

    Starting on Nikon?

If its an itch, then I'd definitely look at second hand, D700 for me, video be hanged. Lens wise the two that most closely match your requirements have been mentioned above, otherwise, just see what you can find in the classifieds, or just buy a single lens? 14-24 (one in the classifieds for...

A little Hanimex Compact, I bought it myself too, I think I was 8. Its probably in my parents loft. I loved that camera, it recorded my entire childhood.

    nikon mount lens advice please

if it fits a nikon, it fits the S5, and what lenses one recommends completely depends on what you want to photograph, so any hints? If in doubt, start with a 50mm f/1.8 prime (£100), or if money has no meaning for you I suggest a 24-70 f/2.8 (£1200) Nick.

Best lens line up for crop sensor?

My current lineup is: Nikon 10-24mm Nikon 35mm f/1.8 Nikon 50mm f/1.8 Nikon 18-200mm I wouldnt change any of them for my use and although the 35 is more convenient indoors, i prefer using the 50mm whenever possible as i get better images from it, i must prefer the perspective compression of a...

    Nikon DX lens choices

Nikon 10-24mm (wide angle) Nikon 35mm f1.8 (general and indoor) Nikon 18-200mm (holiday/walkaround) Sigma 50-500mm (sport/bird/astro) Nikon SB900 Thats My list, its only 4 lenses, and i cheekily included a flash but this would cover 100% of my wants in photography, and I have no interest in...

    HP Photosmart printers for £39

HP getting out of the hardware business is purely the PC/laptops side of things, they have stated they will keep the printer division. I've yet to find a cheap home printer that has low running costs that I would use. digital prints are so easy to get from pro shops. Nick.

    Film camera required...

Canon eos 3 and im a nikon fan! so maybe a Nikon F5? Or for a more classic camera one of the Olympus OM 1 or 2's, Pentax spotmatic or K1000. All are good cameras and with an OEM prime on would be better than the trip. Nick

I'm struggling with the forum for sale ads at the moment but the wife wants to buy a house so need to buy new carpets to help sell the flat then buy a sodding house. I've almost convinced myself that spending out on equip here is insignificant to a house. Unfortunately its all out of the same...
