    which compact for DSLR users?

But it can using CHDK. I've been umming and ahhing for a very long time about the S95 but I just don't think it provides anywhere near enough to justify £100 more compared to the Powershot 220 with CHDK.

T-Mobile £10 Android Contract, worth it?

Decided to go for it. I will not use that many minutes and instead of unlimited texts I've opted for unlimited landline calls which is much more useful for me. I don't really ring or text people much from my phone but the internet seems great and the android apps, plus the option is there if I...

T-Mobile £10 Android Contract, worth it?

It's about time I took the leap and got an Android (I know I don't want Apple) phone. I've always been put off contracts because they seem very expensive for someone like me who doesn't text or ring a lot of people but for a tenner this deal seems great, especially with the fair usage policy of...

What's the point of A on a compact?

Pocketability is the most important factor for me. If I couldn't put it in my jeans or coat pocket I'd stick with the DSLR. After a lot of looking around I think the S95 is the one for me, I just need someone to kick me up the arse to get it lol.

What's the point of A on a compact?

Thanks for the reply Justin. The S95 has an f2 lens and I think a slightly larger or equal sensor to the LX5 (which I also looked into) so I guess it's probably a matter of getting it and playing around lol. I think I'm expecting a little too much from it maybe. I've seen some very creative...

What's the point of A on a compact?

OK, so I am right on the verge of getting a Canon S95 so I can take it around with me everywhere instead of lugging the DSLR and lenses about and after reading a lot of reviews it dawned on me that A mode is essentially useless on a compact. Seeing as even wide open it's still going to get most...

Sudden loss of motivation and desire to shoot

I found this helped me a lot when I gave up togging for a few months. Just enjoy everything around you rather than constant pressure to seek out a photo; leave that to the pros for now.

    Lens advice required

Got the 8mm Samyang after a lot of research and very very happy with it. The pixel peepers on here probably wouldn't be overly keen but it is a great lens for what it does. You only need to go on flickr to see the quality it is capable of. The only downside is the MF but I'm slowly getting used...

    550D red 150-200 pixel cluster?

Sounds like a hot pixel but not if it's a cluster like what you say in the title. From the research I did when my old D40 had a hot pixel there's very little you can do apart from send it back or clone it out of every shot. They come and go for the most part though.

    Which ship to jump on?

One thing to keep in mind if buying a cheaper Nikon body is that you are limited to AF-S lenses. This may not be a problem for you but it helped me jump to Canon.

    new slr with video

I still stand by getting a Flip camera or the like for pure ease of use when handing it over to other people to use and some are waterproof and very hard wearing as well as more compact. Not to mention they're a fraction of the price.

    new slr with video

Even if the OP knew what to do and could easily manual focus, as I mentioned earlier, there's still the problem of jelly shutter. This may not be an issue for you if you're not really bothered about a bit of distortion but it can get quite sickly if you're panning quickly to keep the subject in...

    new slr with video

My advice would be to get a 7D is the budget stretches that far otherwise a 550D would be great. One major thing to take in mind is the jelly shutter of all SLR cameras when recording video and the lack of autofocus (apart from on Sony). I use my 500D for video quite a lot but there's so many...

    Wide angle lens

What's your budget? I can't offer any advice but I think you'd best state this before all the pro's jump in with very expensive suggestions lol. Unless that's what you want of course?!

Invoicing for unauthorised image use on an xmas card?

Ooooo someones got your knickers in a twist haven't they?! Personally I'd rather not get a reputation and just let one slip. If this had been a different situation then I'd argue against. Now come on, carry on your pointless internet rant. :p
