Street photographers and the terrorist threat

Is it compulsory for every thread in this forum to develop into an argument? Everyone has their own feelings, regards and opinions about everything. Just do what you feel is right for you and get on with it and accept that some will not agree with you but they have just the same rights to have...

    Nikon D3xxx owners thread

I think he preferred 'distinguished' looking lol. He really was the gentlest soul sadly missed but we have so many happy memories of him.

    Nikon D3xxx owners thread

This shot of my beloved late chocolate Lab named Ben was taken with the Nikon D40 with the 55-200 non VR lens. Must admit I am struggling to find any of my old images from the D40 and the D3300 maybe it's time I dusted them down and started using them again. Ben by Graham Thompson

    Nikon D3xxx owners thread

My first DSLR was the D40, still got it. I am always surprised just how good the images are from it. I then got the D3300 which I still use occasionally and again, the image quality and low light capability are superb as is the kit lens that came with it. Great cameras.

Would you return a item to a charity shop?

What makes you decide that I am taking some sort of "moral high ground" that is a bit judgemental. I am quite capable of making a decision of my own without it being based on anything other than personal choice. Nor am I stupid enough to not understand basic trading laws and therefore need...

Would you return a item to a charity shop?

If I bought from a charity shop and found it didn't work, I would take the hit. If you think £40 is a big risk, which it is, don't buy it or be prepared to sell the bits on to recoup your losses. But no, don't take it back for a refund. I doubt they would be in a position to say it was fully...

    The lost craft of photography?

The craft of photography has certainly been lost in this thread :D

    Focus stacking

I know of some photographers that focus stack on certain landscape shots where getting very close foreground and background sharp. However, none of them that I know do it on a lot of shots, just on the odd few that need it. Personally I only use it when taking pictures of models I have built.

    North England Sunset/Sunrise tracking..?

Photographers ephemeris is a good simple app but is paid for. Also Photo Pills is good for planning but there are loads of sunrise/sunset time apps.

    Strangely Dissatisfied

I do believe that the actual act of photography is a huge part of the pleasure, or lack of it, as much if not more than the end result. As humans, we differ greatly and as such what gives really us pleasure or satisfaction doing something will differ greatly. It's like taking a walk. Walk two...

Light weight camera for macro/table top photography

I use the LUMIX app on my phone to control my Lumix LX100 fixed zoom lens camera. The amount of control through the app is amazing as I can change just about everything and with the added bonus of touch screen focus point which cannot be done on the camera. This is very useful for me as I have...

Good service from a photography retailer

I used WEX to trade my Sony a6000 and lenses in against a new LUMIX LX100. The quote for my gear was acceptable and I sent my gear in for confirmation of condition. They actually upped the quote a bit once they had seen my gear. Great service on the three occasions I have bought from them too.

    Contiguous Numbers

Great idea for a project. I doubt I would have the discipline not to fake it when the going got tough.
