Not used the 460-II myself, but see no reason why it shouldn't work with your D7000. Certainly won't harm your camera.

Have you considered vinyl? More expensive than paper, but harder wearing, longer lasting and less prone to creasing.

Bessel's standard vinyl backdrops are 400gsm, and 600gsm for the double sided version. Viewfinder's are 600/660gsm in standard and 900gsm in the heavy duty. If Garry was happy with a 660gsm backdrop, I'd guess the Bessel double sided at 600gsm is probably good enough. Bear in mind also that...

Custom profiles work fine in LR3. Save the profile to your PC. Right click on it and select 'install'. In the export dialogue in LR3, go to File Settings and select the relevant profile under the Colour Space drop down. It'll be called DS something depending on the one you've chosen.
