Thanks for the comments :)
About the reshoot, I agree that the framing is a bit tight but I don't have a wider lens ATM. (and there's a gentle slope behind so I can't stand further back).
I tried to get the framing identical to the original so it's just a change of lighting conditions, I guess...
Hi again!
Thanks Andy, that's quite a suggestion! I'll try to remember this for a future dirty photo. :D
Onto today's submission, Paradox and the reshoot:
Week 16: Paradox:

A confusing picture for a confusing theme. A night sky even though...
Thanks Tina and Andy, I do appreciate the feedback.
Today's submission is a bit weak photographically, but it seemed too fun to miss.
Week 15: Wrong:

Catrock had an accident. I'm not sure he knows what he did wrong.
Hope to see you all again...
Hi Everyone!
Thanks for the really encouraging comments! I've been away on honeymoon and work for a few weeks and have (apparently) fallen behind. However, I do have most of the photos ready but haven't posted them yet.
Here's my go for week 14 Object:

Hi Posiview, thanks for the lightening quick reply!
It would be practically impossible to get this photo (empty) with everything in focus using a normal lens. The aperture would have to be vanishingly small. On micro four thirds (the kind of lenses I use) the depth of field is twice as large as...
I skipped week 11 (knowledge) at the time because I couldn't think of anything worthwhile, but I've come back to it and filled in that gap.
So here it is:

Backstory:
A belated entry for the Knowledge theme. Featuring the marble chute hardware...
Thanks very much Tim!
Sorry the blurb is a bit of an essay:
The evenness of the lighting was just a technical challenge :) It probably wouldn't have improved the picture but I wanted to try.
It was a clear glass bottle as it was pink fizz and it was laid on its side on the coffee table on...
@Vimrix: Yes certainly too much preparation. I was hoping a deliberately messy photo would be quick thing. Wasn't. :)
@Feriso: Thanks! As it happens I can't stand the brandy. It gets used for cooking (like sauces and mulled wine). I coulnd't bring myself to drink that dreg for the photo and...
Hi Tim,
What a beautiful photo! The theme can get stuffed if the result is this nice. I'd frame this if it were mine, but my protowife's fake (posing) smile is not something to frame.
Seriously though, frame it.
I really don't have much experience with portraiture but these are my...
@Tim: Heh. Nm. I looked at the EXIF and assumed that you'd had one too many coffees and were using 1/400 to offset the shakes :D
...In hindsight those would have to be MEGA shakes
The novelty of low aperture never really wears off (in my experience) everything looks just so damn sexy...
Thanks for the comments, I agree that the brandy shot is fairly nice but I don't find it very exciting, the light falling though it certainly helps though.
@Tim: Don't worry about sounding harsh on the first photo. I think you've received it exactly as intended. (although that makes me sound...
Hi Tim,
I'd be very happy if this were my open photo. I do think it meets the theme quite clearly as it really does look like a space was opened and cute little bugs are clustered inside. I also don't mind the reflections as I think it adds depth and positively highlights the shininess of the...
Great stuff!
This photo lured me out of lurking to say: YES!
I really like the picture, and although I think I prefer the second version to look at, I think your original editing is probably more appropriate. It's so exciting and well executed!
-Gary.
