The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Just bought my first Fuji. I know this thread is for different models but I’m absolutely blown away by the XH1. Converted!

New BBC TV series on photography!

Good show! Glad I caught it. Only knowing digital I learnt quite a bit. Wish there were more programmes on photography - and I don't mean the photography competition one whatever it was called.

    Double monitors and Dell Inspiron

Ah that's just brilliant!! Thank you so much. I asked our IT guys on a few occasions and it all seemed a tad impossible without buying a new laptop. I was just about to order a new laptop when I thought I'd ask here. So glad I did! Sep9001 and Andrius - I really do appreciate your help! Thank you.

    Double monitors and Dell Inspiron

Hi Andrius It's a Dell 15R 5520 laptop. I'll not be home until late to check the ports but I managed to find the receipt in my emails :-) Thanks Julie

    Double monitors and Dell Inspiron

Thanks ao much for getting back to me, Andrius. I am running one external screen at the minute but would love to run 2 to do tutorials etc. The laptop is at home unfortunately for me to check the exact model and connections but I'll check later. The monitors are Dell U2212HMC and are 1920x1080.

    Double monitors and Dell Inspiron

Calling all IT folk - apologies in advance for my lack of hardware knowledge :) I have a Dell Inspiron laptop (think it is inspiron 15) which I'd like to run two monitors off. It is slow on the boot but runs CC with no issues whatsoever. It's a few years old (about 4-5) - an i3, 1TB HD which...

    Advise needed on walking boots

I bought a pair of Scarpa from Cotswold for that purpose. Fantastic - waterproof, really soft and fit like a glove. They're so easy to get on and off they just slide off when the laces are undone - pretty handy when they're caked in mud and you're trying to get into the house - no mad hauling...

    Review HDEW

I've never had to use their customer service post purchase but would also have no hesitations buying off them again :-)

    Using extension tubes

I have one Steve but I was scared to use it unless the camera was pointing straight - wasn't convinced it could hold the weight of the camera and macro lens

    Using extension tubes

Right - it most definitely is my technical ability with extension tubes, DOF, camera skills...I could go on. Those images are super, Terence!! Determined to master this now :-)

Thanks so much Ingrid! Harder than I thought tbh but I haven't really had a fair craic at it as yet.

    Using extension tubes

I have a Nikon D610 and haven't quite got to using flash. I had bought a cheap neewer ring flash which I tried once. Despite the power down as low as I could get it, the fact I was so close meant bits were blown out. Subsequently found a diffuser for the flash in the box when putting it away...

    Using extension tubes

Thanks everyone. I'll try all of the above. I just need to spend more time getting used to them obviously - they're not a plug and play type of kit!! Arclight - the dof is minute! Really surprised how a few mm can throw any focus at all off. Have struggled with this. I watched a few YouTube...

    Using extension tubes

Thanks Bob! I'll try again. At one point I had the flower almost touching the lens - was using the 105 and still couldn't get sharp focus.
