I'm really interested in picking one of these up for a bit of travel photography, but everywhere seems to be out of stock at the moment. They sure are proving popular!
Haha brilliant. It's incredible how people can present themselves as expert critics in photography, hiding behind their computer screens. Some people always see room for 'improvement' when in reality their words reek of obvious jealousy.
I agree here. It's ok as long as you get some good light outside, but as soon as the light goes or for indoor shooting/sports I would advise something faster.
Another recommendation for the 550d here! I personally find the fps fine for sports, but if it's going to take up the majority of your photography maybe you could be swayed by something slightly faster.
I can definitely recommend the 550d - same sensor as the 7d and a lot of people have said they're very happy with the jump up from 350d
Alternatively, invest in some higher quality lenses
If you do want a book though, i can recommend the "digital field guide" books. They make them for each individual canon camera so you should find one for the 600d soon if not out already
Sounds like a temporary software glitch or maybe there was some static build up. I wouldn't worry too much as it is unlikely to be a mechanical fault and your pics will be on the memory card if something does go wrong. Mention it in store and see if they can provide an explanation
