What format and frame rate will you have to deliver in? That may help your decision.

Yes I've used an Anker Power Bank to do just that.

Can you tape over the ir sensor?

I can recommend a synology, I have a DS414. I started with 3x 3tb drives in raid 5. Plays well with Lightroom and will backup to Dropbox/ Onedrive/ other synologys or external disks.

I have a Synology and I'm really pleased with it. Very easy to setup and low maintenance.. It automatically backs up to one of my older external hard drives and to my onedrive account. All stuff that I'm sure is doable on the other systems just my two pence..
