Have to agree on that. I was in the op's position a couple of months back. But im glad chose the sigma. Did a lot of reading and all is pointing to sigma for the IQ if your lucky enough to get a good copy.

I'm looking to get a spare battery for my 400d. I've read that 3rd party batteries aren't much different than canon ones. Is there any specific brand I should look for? And also, would it be ok to charge it with the standard canon charger and not explode or anything like that?
